Virtual Teaching Best Practices – MORNING SESSION

Goal: Provide instructors with Packet Tracer activities/labs that can be used in the virtual classroom.
Only sign up for one session per time-period.
All participates should be running Packet Tracer 7.3.1.

Go to https://metasolutions.webex.com to access all sessions. Meeting numbers/links and passwords will be sent after registration is completed.
Each session will be limited to 20 participants.
All sessions will be recorded.
9am – 11:30am (Three concurrent sessions)
Session 1: Creating Packet Tracer Activities (Katie Fitzner and Deb Keller) Description: Want to learn how to write your own activities and modify existing activities? Using material from the ITN course, we will teach you how to adapt an existing activity, and how to write your own activity, using Packet Tracer 7.3.1. By the end of the session, you will have a good start on, and perhaps finish, your own skills final for the ITN course.
Session 2: Let’s Explore the Automation Features of DevNet’s Packet Tracer 7.4 (Steve Stiles & Lonnie Decker)
Description: This session will demonstrate the new SDN Controller included with Packet Tracer 7.4. The controller can be accessed from the host PC using Python or Postman to perform network management and monitoring on the devices configured inside of PT. The PT 7.4 SDN Controller can also be accessed within PT 7.4 using an internal host PC in the existing topology.
Note: This version of PT is only available pre-installed on the DEVASC VM.
Session 3: Packet Tracer Remote Solution for Web Based Devices including Google Chrome Books (Paul Fedele)
Description: Students using Chromebooks were not able to access Packet Tracer…until now. Learn how to offer Packet Tracer to Chromebook users along with a host of other devices. This session walks administrators through the setup, configuration, and management of a virtual server which offers Packet Tracer through any HTML 5 compatible browser. Instructor access and grading will also be covered.
