Veregy Local Government Solar Project Examples

Energy and Solar Project, Jackson County, MI

Veregy is currently implementing a two-phase energy project that includes LED lighting, ground-mount and rooftop solar installations at seven sites totaling 1.071 MW, EV charging, and HVAC upgrades, including geothermal. Veregy is also integrating smart building controls in 12 buildings and installing a water treatment plant leachate dewatering system. The project also includes long-term facility master planning.

“We have always sought ways to reduce our environmental footprint and reduce our energy costs. This project does both and improves the comfort and therefore quality of our employees’ lives while at work. We are very pleased to partner with Veregy, an industry leader in the field.”

– Michael Overton, Administrator/Controller, Jackson County, Michigan

Solar and LED Lighting Project, City of North Vernon, IN

Veregy designed and installed a Guaranteed Energy Savings Project with the goal of a net zero electric bill. Veregy helped the City of North Vernon become Indiana’s first “Solar City” with 3,900 solar panels, equal to 2.38MW, across 22 different sites throughout the city including the wastewater treatment plant. Veregy currently utilizes remote monitoring and demand management technology to ensure a productive and stable system, while performing routine maintenance to the solar arrays when necessary. In addition, this project included LED Street Lighting.

Solar, HVAC, & LED Lighting Phase II Project,  St. Louis Library, MO

Veregy partnered with the library to develop and implement a long-range facility plan that upgrades aging infrastructure and reduces long-term energy and operational costs. In the Phase II project scope, a 64 kWh rooftop solar installation was completed at both the Buder and Julia Davis branches. This project also included the installation of new chillers, VAV systems, LED Lighting, Building Automation System upgrades, and implemented Veregy’s Orchestrate Integration Platform.

Solar Project, Abraham Lincoln Airport, Springfield, IN

Veregy designed and implemented a project to improve the airport’s operating budget and generate additional revenue. The 2.88 MW solar project comprises six solar arrays located across three sites. The project will reduce the electric utility accounts of three airports and three tenants by over 90% each. The three airport accounts will be Net Metered by a combination of roof and ground-mounted solar to provide significant savings. The other three ground-mounted arrays will provide a net metering solution for one of the airport’s tenants and will generate nearly 4,000,000 kWh annually. The project was awarded the Airport Business 2024 Project of the Year – Sustainability.
